Welcome to our summer newsletter, this week we have had some sunshine at last. I am hoping that it will be sunny on 23rd June when we have our annual Fish and Chips Lunch at The Hut. Please let us know if you would like to come if you haven’t already, you are welcome to bring a friend and we will be providing transport. Last year we were able to go for a walk along the prom. There are wheelchairs available at The Hut so anyone who feels they aren’t able to walk, our carers will be happy to push you along.
Penny will be hosting a “Light Up” for Macmillan Evening this month to raise funds for the Macmillan Nurses, there will be a donation box at The Hut if anyone wishes to donate.
News from the Staff Room
We have a new carer Heather who has just started with us. Heather has worked in retail for a number of years and is looking forward to meeting our clients.
Congratulations to Sharon who has become a grandmother for the third time, another boy Alby George.
On a sadder note Janet has decided that the time has come for her to fully retire. She will be leaving us at the end of June and sailing off into the sunset on a cruise down the Danube. I am sure you all wish her a relaxing and happy retirement. Michelle who has been working for us since last November will now be taking on the full role of Office Administrator.
Please remember to drink plenty of fluids in the warm months and cover up in the sun.
This time I have attached a poem by John Betjeman about Felixstowe. This was scripted and drawn by Mr John Poole who has kindly allowed me to reproduce this for our newsletter for everyone to enjoy.
Looking forward to seeing as many as can make it at The Hut on 23rd June.
