Rose Care Autumn Newsletter

A warm welcome to our Autumn 2022 newsletter and particularly to any new clients who haven’t received one of our newsletters before. The newsletters are sent out quarterly to keep you up to date with any changes at Rose Care, any news we have from the office and social events.

Covid

Covid is on the rise again and so I want to reassure you that all our carers will continue to wear masks whilst they are with clients.  Many of the carers have also had their fourth covid jab and a flu jab.

Our policy regarding covid follows the latest government advice which is if a carer has symptoms they must immediately test and if they have a positive result stay off work until they have a negative result.

News from the office

The office opening hours have changed to 0830 to 1530 the phone will still be answered by the carer on call before 0830 and after 1530.

Christmas Party

Following two years of being unable to get together for Christmas we are happy to announce that this year our clients Christmas party will be on Friday 2nd December 2pm to 4.15pm at The Old Felixstowe Community Centre.

Rose Care Club

We are planning a trip to a garden centre in the new year for a look around and a cup of tea and cake more details to follow.

Please let us know if there are any places or things you would like to do/go to next year so we can start planning.  We look forward to getting together again after the last two years.

Reminders

Keeping warm this winter

As the nights start to draw in, our attention is turned towards the coming winter months and keeping warm, so here are some tips from the NHS for keeping warm and well.

•    Draw your curtains at dusk
•    Have regular hot drinks and at least one hot meal a day
•    Wear several light layers
•    Keep your home warm, between 18-21C
•    Keep as active as possible

Warm Spaces

There are a few warm spaces in Felixstowe these have been set up so that local people can get together and be warm during the winter.

Felixstowe Convent are offering lunch, hot drinks, activities and time to chat.

Other places are St John’s Church, the library and the drop in centre on Orwell Road.

If you would like to attend one of these places and need a lift please let us know and we will see if we can help.
